Hatboro Area YMCA The Nathaniel Boileau House
The Honorable Nathaniel Boileau spent 12 years in the State Legislature. He was Secretary of State and, in 1817, ran for Governor. During the early part of the 1800's, the house was a stop on the Underground Railroad. During the excavation for the YMCA pool, an underground chamber was discovered. The room was filled with artifacts which indicated that the room was once used to hide runaway slaves. The YMCA purchased the property in 1963.
