First Friday Hatboro invites visitors to don some green and join in an Irish celebration March 6 when the Timoney Irish Dancers appear in downtown Hatboro. First Friday Hatboro, a celebration of the arts sponsored by the Greater Hatboro Chamber of Commerce and hosted by the merchants in the downtown Hatboro, offers a variety of free entertainment and activities from 6 to 9 p.m. on the first Friday of each month, rain (snow) or shine. In celebration of St. Patrick's Day, visitors wearing green ![]() The award-winning TIMONEY IRISH DANCERS have appeared at respected regional venues such as the Academy of Music and the Robin Hood Dell East in Philadelphia and the Keswick Theatre in Glenside. Founded in 1966 with the goal of "preserving Irish culture in the Philadelphia and new Jersey areas," the dancers also have appeared in the St. Patrick's Day Parade in Dublin, Ireland. On First Friday, they'll perform in the parking lot at McMackin Tire Service, York Road and Moreland Avenue, and will offer onlookers a lesson in Irish Dance throughout the evening. In case of inclement weather, the dancers will perform indoors at the Hatboro Baptist Church Annex, 50 N. York Road (located in the shopping center adjacent to the church). The Hatboro Baptist Church, 32 N. York, will partner with the Kidz Klub (www.thekidzklub.com) to present a FREE FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT from 7 to 9 p.m. The feature film will be High School Musical 3. Coffee, snacks and cold drinks will be available throughout the evening. Impact Thrift Stores, 14 E. Moreland Avenue, will present A NIGHT OF KARAOKE led by Sorensen & Savoca, Impact's own in-house D.J.s. In honor of St. Patrick's Day, Irish songs will be featured, as well as a selection of other favorites. Live music will be offered at a number of venues elsewhere in town. At Edwards Studios, 7 S. York Road, jazz harmonica artist CHRIS BAUER will play American standards. The studio will offer complimentary wine and cheese. In a return appearance at This N That Gift Shoppe, 31 S. York Road, acoustic guitar duo JACK & BRENDA will perform folk/rock music with a taste of the Renaissance. Those stopping in will get a "sweet" treat, as well. Multi-Instrumentalist and performer JAMES SIVEL will appear at Deluca Music, 56 S. York Road and at Le Coffee Salon, 50 S. York Road, classical guitarist JESSE COHEN will perform. On display at the salon will be the original PAINTINGS OF PATRICK OTIS COX. JEAN LANG will display her oil paintings at A Touch of Home, 35 S. MONTHLY NETWORKING LUNCHEON & CARD EXCHANGE Location: Cafe La Fontana, 58 S. York Rd., Hatboro 19040 Time: 12:00 P.M. to 1:30 P.M. Cost: $16 for chamber members, $19 for non-members. Reservations required. Contact 215-956-9540 or office@hatborochamber.org The Greater Hatboro Chamber of Commerce will host its monthly networking luncheon and business card exchange March 12 from noon to 1:30 p.m. at Café LaFontana, 58 S. York Road, Hatboro. Open to both chamber members and non-members, the business-to-business luncheon provides an open forum for networking, plus an opportunity for those attending to introduce themselves and their businesses to the group. Cost of the luncheon is $16 for chamber members, $19 for non-members. Reservations are requested and may be made by calling the chamber office at 215-956-9540 or sending an e-mail to office@hatborochamber.org. Checks should be made payable to the Greater Hatboro Chamber of Commerce. The luncheons, scheduled at several area restaurants, are held the second Thursday of each month, with the exception of July, August and December. |

The Village Players Present "GOD'S FAVORITE" Location: The Village Players of Hatboro, 401 Jefferson Ave., Hatboro, PA 19040 Curtain Times: -- Fridays & Saturdays - 8:00 pm -- Sunday Matinees - 2:00 pm Admission: Friday & Saturday - $12.00 ; Sunday Matinee - $10.00 . Synopsis: The biblical story of Job is transferred to the Long Island mansion of a successful God fearing tycoon, his wife, a prodigal son, a pair of kooky twins, and a faithful maid and butler. Joe Benjamin lives a successful life, until one night he receives a visit from a messenger from God, Sydney Lipton, who informs Joe he is God’s Favorite, and all he needs to do is renounce God. He uses all manners of temptations to persuade Joe and each time he refuses, Joe is met with every affliction imaginable. Amid the seemingly tragic circumstances, Neil Simon has created a hugely funny play while maintaining the integrity of the lesson.

Location: Horsham Community Center, 1025 Horsham Rd., Horsham 19044 Time: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission: FREE
Exhibitors will include craftsmen, contractors, supppliers, architects, designers, etc. Although the show is not limited to owners of historic homes, most exhibitors have special skills, knowledge, or products that are applicable to older and/or historic homes. The Home Show is being presented by the Horsham Preservation and Historical Association, Horsham Historical Advisory Commission, Greater Horsham Chamber of Commerce, and an anonymous donor.
